What do Tétouan, Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca, El Jadida, Safi and Agadir have in common? These are all popular coastal cities to visit for a Morocco vacation. Vacationers flock to the Moroccan coastal playground for more than just the surf and turf cliché, and exploring these coastal wonders is easy with daily ferry transportation across the Atlantic.
The question is: what differentiates Moroccan coastal cities from those of other countries?
First, the Moroccan coastal cities are steeped in culture. Evidence is widespread. Tétouan has a Hispano-Moorish architecture which still echoes the not yet imperialist past. Rabat, the capital of Morocco, is a caricature of the empires of the past at war. The history of Rabat encompasses the new districts, as well as the old medina. Meanwhile, El Jadida is home to impressive Portuguese colonies and archaeological ruins that remind visitors of its charming history.
Second, Morocco's coastal cities are eclectic and diverse. Demographically, Moroccan cities are very diverse. For example, in northern cities, you will see more Spanish influence, while you will see more French influence in the south. Morocco presents a mixture of cultures on the coast reflecting this demographic diversity.
Finally, the Moroccan coastal cities are hot spots for shopping. There are many buyers and traders in the coastal Kasbahs. The products come into the ports just out of the ships, and by products, I mean mainly seafood. The fish in the souks are transported directly from the ports to restaurants and fish markets. Seafood is inexpensive, fresh and delicious. Safi, one of the main fishing ports in Morocco, is particularly famous for sardines. If fish is not your business, you may prefer to visit the streets of the coast of Casablanca, land of fashion and more modern shops. “Casa” is a contemporary track full of international companies - in many ways, the dream of buyers.
In addition to the characteristics specific to Moroccan cities, there is also evidence: they all overlook the sea. The Moroccan coastal cities have bourgeois seaside resorts, hidden beaches and a Mediterranean sea breeze. From the cultural to the material, it is easy to understand why the Moroccan coastal cities are the holiday resorts of choice
